What side effects can this medication cause?

Side effects from clindamycin may include:

diarrhea (mild)
nausea and vomiting
stomach pain
itching of rectal or genital (sex organ) areas 

Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

abdominal or stomach cramps and pain (severe)
abdominal tenderness
diarrhea (watery and severe or bloody)
fever 

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

an allergic reaction (swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; shortness of breath; closing of the throat; or hives);
a rash
diarrhea
yellowing of the skin or eyes
abdominal pain
little or no urine


Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
